Longevity isn’t about just living a long time, it’s about having a high quality of life. Little injuries start to accumulate as you get older. Just a couple of months ago I strained my hip-flexor and adductor while coaching and it’s been negatively impacting my quality of life. Lifting is awesome, and I love it, but I have found that due to time constraints I neglect mobility and flexibility. A good friend of mine @coachhatcher swears by hot yoga and I decided to commit to doing it 2 days a week. My body is starting to feel great! I feel more mobile and after 75 minutes of yoga today, I was spent but felt loose and pain free. My fellow meatheads, I encourage you to try this one day a week and while you’ll look ridiculous doing it, it’s worth it and yoga people don’t judge, they’re all very nice! The place I go to has a 6am class so I am back in the office rocking and rolling by 8am. I can see myself doing this at least 1-2x a week forever. Have you ever done hot yoga?
