2024短期出家淨戒會圓滿合影紀念
妙蓮老和尚說:
為了改進上述之遺憾，所以我們山上收了小沙彌，當然要依古規教育他們。那現在又是怎麼教育呢？在這裡日常一切生活，都是佛法的生活：上殿、過堂、晚上慧命香念佛、大回向都跟著來參加，由實際的行持中消罪障、增福慧。這些訓練好了，同時還要背誦經典。小班的小沙彌當然要認字，由老師教導他們，以學生字典為工具，每個字都要認得，不但字形認得，還要知道字的意義；另外還要練寫毛筆字。所以認字、寫毛筆字、背經、寫日記，就是這三、四個主要課程。至於學梵唄、唱念，及盤腿，這些都是日常生活中必要訓練的課程。
印光祖師說：「有真儒方有真僧」，我們依著印祖的話，所以小班的沙彌就讓他們背太上感應篇、了凡四訓，先把人的基礎打好了，然後再背誦佛家的經典，像四十二章經、佛遺教經等，一律是受佛學的教育，過著佛法的生活。因為我們是出家人，當然要以佛學、佛行為重嘛！
Venerable Master Miao Lien:
 In order to avoid this regrettable situation, the young novice monks at our temple have been educated according to the rules of ancient forest monasteries. How? Everyday life here follows a Buddhist routine. They all participate in Buddha Hall services and meal services during the day, and in the evening they join the chanting meditation and Grand Transference of Merits. Through actual practice, they remove their karmic obstructions and increase their blessings and wisdom. While they are getting trained in these daily services, they also memorize sutras. The youngest ones, of course, need to learn Chinese characters from their instructors. They have to learn every character in their student dictionaries, and they have to know their meanings as well. In addition, they have to learn Chinese calligraphy. Their major lessons involve learning characters, writing calligraphy, memorizing sutras, and keeping a diary. Learning chanting and practicing sitting meditation are also essential parts of the daily training routine.
       Patriarch Yin Kuang said, “A person of noble character makes a true monastic practitioner.” Taking this into consideration, we have our youngest novice monks start by memorizing The Treatise of the Exalted One on Response and Retribution and Liao Fan’s Four Lessons. After laying the foundation for being a good person, they go on to memorize Buddhist sutras such as The Sutra in Forty-Two Sections and The Sutra of the Buddha’s Bequeathed Teachings. They receive Buddhist education and live the Buddhist way of life. As we are monastic practitioners, we have to place learning and practicing Buddhism as our top priority.

5/12加拿大靈巖山寺浴佛節慶祝系列活動圓滿落幕。
ㄧ早的浴佛典禮陽光普照，廣場已擠滿了人潮，大眾攜家帶眷一同來參與這場莊嚴隆種的浴佛儀式，感念佛恩的同時，也將這份祝福回向給所有偉大的母親。
今年第二屆的佛教書法展，讓大眾藉這難得的機會，ㄧ同沉浸在書法和佛教結合的藝術饗宴中。展場中也是人潮滿滿，現場除了筆會，還有茶道表演、佛教書法講座、漢服展示和現場民樂演奏等。
園遊會裡的幸福美食更是活動的一大亮點，大家品嚐著來自不同義工們做的美味素食，不僅滿足了味蕾，更對多樣化又豐富的選擇感到驚豔。好禮抽獎更是讓整個活動氣氛達到了高潮。
此次園遊會活動收入將捐贈給本地三個婦女慈善團體: 列治文醫院$43,000元，Chimo Community Services $30,000元，及BC Women’s Health Foundation $30,000元，在這特別的日子裡，大家ㄧ起支持社區關懷，在浴佛節的祝福下，共度了一個充滿意義又難忘的浴佛母親節。
