Info
Tama County, Iowa, USA is home to some of the world's most productive farmland. Citizens are concerned about the impact industrial wind turbines can have on the land, quality of life, public safety and public health for people, livestock and wildlife. That's why the Tama County Against Turbines coalition educates and informs the public on the potential risks of industrial wind turbines, and to advocate for more stringent County ordinances to better protect people, land, wildlife and livestock. Tama County's ordinances regulating Commercial wind energy projects were first created in 1998, and separated from the master zoning ordinance in 2010. Supervisors reapproved the outdated ordinance in 2022 without a single change from 2010, despite strong calls for needed changes to update it. This channel features videos designed to educate and inform, including public meetings with Tama County officials.
