Dr. Vartika Nanda is India's renowned prison reformer and a media educator. She was awarded the Stree Shakti Award by the President of India in 2014 for her outstanding work in media and literature. She is the founder of Tinka Tinka, a unique series that works towards prison reforms. She is the author of 3 books on prisons that are considered to be masterpieces on prison reforms in India. Her suggestions were taken into cognizance by Supreme Court of India in 2018.  She is credited for introducing Prison Radio in the states of Haryana, District Jail, Agra in Uttar Pradesh and DJ, Dehradun.. She is the storyteller for the Delhi Police Podcast - Kissa Khaki Ka - which is the first podcast series broadcast by any police department in India. She was the head of the Crime Beat in India's leading television channel in the early 90s. She was the FIRST Executive Producer of Lok Sabha TV.  Currently, she heads Department of Journalism in Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University.
