We moved from Oregon to Alaska in November of 2016 to seek more solitude, more challenges, and extreme adventures. Our family of 6 walked away from the suburban lifestyle by choice to live off grid in the remote wilderness of Alaska. We are working with minimal equipment and little money to transform 160 acres of raw land into a functioning homestead. Extreme weather, pesky insects, and large animals are just a few of the obstacles we will encounter on our journey. As we build up our off grid Alaska homestead, we will share our knowledge of what we are learning as we go. This will range from building, gardening, basic winter survival, preserving food, making cutting boards, firewood processing, felling trees to doing product reviews we believe in!
