The Research Centre for the Study of Music, Media and Place (MMaP) at Memorial University of Newfoundland was established in 2003 to initiate and enable music research within the academic and general community. MMaP houses Memorial University’s graduate program in ethnomusicology and is the hub of the local ethnomusicological community. The Centre hosts scholarly lectures, film screenings, conferences and symposia, and many of our events are livestreamed and archived on this channel. Our “Back On Track” Audio Publication Series makes one-of-a-kind collections of archival and field recordings available to the public, with CDs and websites that showcase the diverse musics of Newfoundland and Labrador. To learn more about the Centre, Memorial’s ethnomusicology program, and MMaP’s audio publications, or to get news about our upcoming events, follow us on Facebook (MMaP Research Centre) or Twitter (MMaP Research Centre), subscribe to this channel, or visit our web page at www.mun.ca/mmap.
