56 year old field goal kicker. Update…… APRIL 25,2023 TORE MY QUADRICEPS IN JANUARY 2023. No longer kicking. Thank you for all the support! ———Did not get to play in high school back in the early 80’s. When I turned 48 I started kicking as a hobby. I kicked barefoot at the time and was seen practicing by a coach of a semi pro team in Austin. He asked if I would like to tryout and that week I was on the team ( ATX Tigers). The next year another team ( Austin Vipers) asked me to be on their team. At the beginning of the season, a teammate stepped on and broke my foot. I still wanted to kick but was unable to for six weeks. I switched to straight on kicking because I was familiar with it from my junior high school days. At 51 I was kicking better and further than I ever had. I switched jobs which prevented me from playing on a team at 52, but I still enjoy kicking.
