The world’s highest airport is Daocheng Yading Airport in China, sitting at an altitude of 4,411 meters (14,472 feet) above sea level. Due to the thin air at this height, planes require longer runways for takeoff and landing. It serves as a gateway to Tibet’s remote regions.
