I've been quiet again lately because I started a new job about 6 weeks ago and it requires a lot of my attention at the moment, so i honestly haven't even felt like making content lately. Not even YouTube shorts. 
But i'll be back eventually. When i actually wanna make content again.
In the meantime; Echo Point Nova released and Shady Knight is just around the corner. Both INCREDIBLE games. Go play.

Hey so i wanna start doing those "indie games you need to play" videos again where I go over a bunch of upcoming or already released indie games that i think are sick. Those videos were always well received by you guys and I don't exactly know why I stopped them. I wanna do different variations of that format too, so stay tuned and i'll see you guys soon.
P.S: I bought a new mic too cos my cable on the other one is dicky, so i went with a wireless mic cos i would love to record videos in different ways and stuff in the future. 

I'm sure you've all seen the videos and opinions surrounding Phantom Fury. I'll get mine out when I can (most likely when no-one cares anymore lmao). But just some quick thoughts;
After playing through Phantom Fury, I'm genuinely confused about why this game is getting so much hate. It's not perfect, but it is far from the "mess" people are making it out to be. 
I'm not gonna speak on the drama surrounding Slipgate and 3DR, I don't know enough to weigh in on that conversation. But what I do know is that after seeing these Youtubers videos and some streamers reactions to the game, a lot of their critiques and comments and reactions have been incredibly disingenuous, misrepresented and very nit-pickey. And they quite often completely ignore, or even choose to not acknowledge the things this game does well. 
A lot of the things they have complained about are present in some very highly rated games within this genre. But now all of a sudden, when it comes to this game, these problems are a MASSIVE deal. There just seems to be a double standard from where I'm standing. 
But then again, maybe I'm the problem because I'm just not bothered by much anymore when it comes to video games. I couldn't care less if there are some goofy bugs, or if the AI aren't perfect or if some sections of the campaign drag a bit. I didn't expect this game to be a masterpiece so I didn't hold it to the standard of one.

The Doom Eternal conversation is well and truly over, but; I played through it again recently and I added mods to it that make it a lot faster and it feels so much better in my opinion. That was one of my main gripes with it when it first released. The movement especially.
After playing games like Turbo Overkill, ULTRAKILL and REAVER a lot, Doom Eternal felt weird to go back to lol. 
Still an absolute peak game though. Not perfect, but in my top 10 for sure. 

Regarding the video about AI:
I'll pin this as a comment on that video too.

I did a poor job at communicating what my issue with AI is and I posted that video while I was angry. Instead of being an adult, controlling my emotions and communicating my thoughts properly, I let my anger get the best of me again. Like it has in the past. That's on me.

I still stand by what I said. I hate AI generated “art” and I personally don't want to have to see it in video games going forward. I know it's inevitable and that sucks. 
AI, particularly when it comes to creatives, is a subject I'm passionate about. I'm no artist, but I can respect art for what it is and I respect the hell out of the human interpretation, emotion and meaning behind it. Despite how “small” it may be. 
I don't like the thought of companies punching a prompt into a computer and letting it spit out an image/asset that it has essentially stolen from artists that can't consent to their work being used in the pool of data the AI is trained on. 
People say “what's the difference between AI learning from already existing images and artists, compared to real artists learning from each other”... Well, in my opinion; it's the human emotion, interpretation and personal meaning the person puts behind it. It's an outward expression of that person. 
AI can't create an image WITHOUT something to learn from.
A human can.
All art is derivative, but there needs to be a sort of conscious meaning behind each piece to make it unique.

I'm not against AI as a tool. Otherwise I wouldn't be for the progression of technology and I'm sure we could all see the hypocrisy in that. 
There's different forms of AI and I'm completely aware that people will lose their jobs to technology regardless.
But there needs to be a way to integrate this AI technology without compromising the integrity of a project and also crediting the artists that have had their work essentially stolen in order to help produce this technology. 

To the people that had a problem with me using clips of asmongold; you're right. I shouldn't have used them because that conversation was completely irrelevant and separate to my feelings and what I wanted to say. 
I never said he was wrong and I did a very poor job at wording my thoughts. 
He's technically right about consumers, that's why I said “you (we) are the problem”. And I'm no better than everyone else. 

In the future I'm gonna try and cool off for a few days and get out of the echo chamber I can find myself in before posting a video. 

I still stand by my feelings toward AI generated art.
