In deference to Election Day 2024, I won’t be posting my usual Tuesday video to give us all a chance to focus—nay, fixate—on the news of the day as it surprises, amazes, and unfolds. Keep calm, stay safe, and don’t bother the working people who are just trying to do their jobs. (Btw, I created today’s image using a combination of the bleeding-edge web apps Project Neo and Firefly. However flawed, American exceptionalism marches on.) What should I *next* try for 30 days? 

A few weeks ago, I recorded a short celebratory ode to the current state of A.I. Made with the help of Udio, Photoshop, and Firefly—replete with my own lyrics and 63 frames of mind-bending imagery—it’s a singular blend of mortal and machine. If you have a spare 57 seconds, check it out! I’m eager to know what you think! 

Today, dekeNow (this very YouTube channel) has reached 10 thousand subscribers. By sheer coincidence, I’ve also racked up over 250 thousand views. And it’s all happened in under 16 months.

Hey, everyone! Some of you may have noticed that I’ve been strangely silent the last two Tuesdays, September 5 and 12. Without getting too in-the-weeds, I had a small scare that landed me, briefly, in the hospital—an exciting first for me. And while I’m happy to report, all is 100% well, a celebration of life seemed in order. So my wife and I went road-tripping to, among other places, Mesa Verde! That's the Square Tower House below, built by Ancestral Puebloans around 1100 C.E., and captured and retouched (with surprising accuracy) by me in the present day. (Heck yeah, I’ll admit to some Generative Fill.) Today, I am returned and fully back in the saddle. And rest assured, I’ll be back with a new video this Tuesday, September 19.
