While researching a story I am writing about an American pilot who went to England and fought for the Royal Air Force during World War II. This character, this pilot becomes disowned and disinherited by his family. Alone in a country he knows nothing about he has to learn not only to survive in this war. With the help of his best friend a Scotsmen and his cousin from Australia. Timothy Stone learns about the people, the culture, his love of bubble and squeak, toad in the hole and shepherd's pie. Researching what I need to write this book I’ve learned about the food, the culture and what the people of Britain had to endure during World War II.
