New info from the Fostering Network UK (Nov 24) says that over the last 3 years the UK has lost over 2500 fostering households. Reasons given were: inadequate financial remuneration, lack of support from their fostering service, and lack of respect for their role. 

If you are a foster carer, what is most likely to keep you going?

Better pay

Better fostering agency support

More respect for your role

More support for your family unit (e.g. birth/adopted kids)

What do you find works best to encourage your children/foster children to take oral medicine?

Freeze the tongue first?

Coat the tongue in spread first?

Bribery e.g. sweets/film/iPad?

I find using therapeutic parenting quite tough sometimes.
