Hi, I’m Birch and I believe knowledge, skills and resourcefulness are a path to a better, easier life. To that end, I’ve been building & making things most of my life. The majority of my content features woodturning and woodworking of all sorts. I also show some yard & garden projects because I enjoy the challenge and because the battle between gardeners and the rampaging hordes of rabbits, squirrels, deer and assorted vermin is never over. ;-D In case you’re wondering where the name ‘Birch’ originates, the answer is simple. Out of the dozens of species of wood I’ve worked with, birch is my clear favorite wood to use when turning wooden bowls. Unfortunately, decent sized birch logs can be hard to obtain, which may be why most people’s experience with birch is via toothpicks and tongue depressors, but I digress. :-) -Birch
