The five 8mm films I have uploaded (Afghanistan, India, Thailand, Nepal and Burma) were originally shot some 50 years ago (1971/72) and edited by hand (an extremely time-consuming and tricky project because of the tiny size of the film stock). In order to view the films, you needed an 8mm film projector and the music soundtrack was provided by a reel-to-reel tape recorder roughly synchronized with the projector. The arrival of digital technology made it possible to clean up the splices, embed the soundtrack and add titles and credits.
