LOOKING FOR YOUTUBE EDITORS!

I've finally accepted that I simply don't have the time to physically make all the content I want to make. So, I'm looking to take on an/some editor(s), primarily for high quality YouTube guides for Path of Exile. 

This is an unknown area for me so I'll be looking to work out the details with you as we go but I'm interested in building long term successful relationships.



ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Primarily looking for guide edits with me acting as director/producer. Also open to highlight edits and other shorter content that is more self-directed (likely with you getting a much larger revenue share as it's content I'd not have made otherwise).



GUIDE EDITS: Specifically requested. 
- Editing provided pre-recorded commentary, footage and B-roll into high quality, easy to follow guides (8-25 mins usually). This is the main thing I am looking for editors for.
- Clean and simple title cards, graphics and visual aids (advanced animation not really needed).

HIGHLIGHT EDITS: Optional extra content or requested highlights from stream footage edited into a narrative, shorter form for YT. 
- This format potentially requires you to be more familiar with my stream content if you want to make videos.

SHORTS: This is not a priority but if someone is interested and has experience in making shorts I'd be open to discussing flat fees for regular ones. Could be paired with long form creation.


REQUIREMENTS:
- Some working knowledge of Path of Exile (preferably), or ARPGs and similar games.
- A big bonus for experience with content creation in the ARPG space.
- Verified examples of your content, bonus if it's your own channel.
- Optional extras: Thumbnail production and other supporting skills.

WHAT I'M OFFERING:
- Keen to discuss pay structures tailored to what sort of content you want / are able to make.
- Open to discussing a mix of flat fee + revenue share performance bonus structures.
- A cut of sponsor direct integrations would seem reasonable to me too.
- High revenue share for self-directed bonus content (if it grows my channel and is good content I can give most of the direct revenue to the editor and that would be fine for me).
- Lots of opportunity for growing your position over time. Grow with my channel and with PoE 2 - it's a good time to be getting serious about making content for it right now! Keen to keep reliable folks on for a long time and that means paying them as best I can afford.
- Open an honest communication and transparency about the work and economics.
- 90 days (8 or so proper PoE videos): 1.6mill views, 240k watchtime, +5.8k Subs (Current Total 233k).

Livestream VoD notification sub feed update! 
I have changed livestream VoDs to not automatically be published which now lets me manually publish them (and hopefully THAT lets me publish without notifying subs). So VoDs should end up in my LIVE tab on my channel still but wont drown out actual videos!

Quick Q: Are the VoDs filling up your subscription feed or causing undue notifications? If you have enabled notifications you should get notified when I go live but I would think the VoD shouldn't ping you and should stay relegated to "LIVE" section on my channel page (and maybe suggested feed). I don't want them to get in the way of my actual content.

Some behind the scenes & and thoughts on content:

YouTube's current algorithms tend to punish me a bit for posting indie content outside of ARPGs - Posting vids that get less views from your subs tend to get your content hidden away more... It's a really sucky system that encourages multiple channels (which I don't want to do) and it leads to content creators feeling like they can't post content that's not a sure thing. Similarly these days sponsors tend to average your recent video views in calculating offers, so you're best off posting 1 big view video and not a mix of content - unfortunate. Side note: clicking and liking sponsored vids of your preferred Yters is a big way to help them as it directly affects their future earnings more than ad watching or about anything else you can do for free. 



I've been feeling a bit stuck about it and not sharing stuff I want to share - But I just love trying and sharing good indie games, and I love doing organic story-telling content like Rimworld runs. These things get fewer views of course but people tend to really enjoy them that do watch, which is very rewarding personally. And my partner Amy has encouraged me to ngaf about it so much and to just go for it so I'm going to try and share more, and hopefully, with time, it's something YT might end up supporting a bit more as more of my subs find they like that content (or as I attract subs that want to see that stuff). We'll see how it goes and I'll try posting some more stuff I want to share. 



This doesn't mean no or less PoE or ARPG content btw - I love making guides for those but only when I feel inspired. I'm especially keen for PoE 2 for that reason as I'm feeling super excited at all the potential things I can learn and explain about that.

I have had access to Starfield review code the past week or so and have prepared six videos ahead of time so far. My general approach is not to spoil things but rather to focus on guides to systems and to help people enjoy the game more right from when they start (effectively skipping those awkward first few hours where you are trying to figure out menus and systems). 

You can expect a schedule something like the following:
- 2am AEST 1st Sept: Starfield Beginner's Guide (Bethesda Comissioned Vid)
- Later 1st Sept: Sandbox Exploration Gameplay Walkthrough
- Later 1st Sept: Guide to Skills To Take (or Avoid) in the Early Game
- 2nd Sept: Stealing a Ship
- 3rd Sept: A Guide to Crime
- 4th: TBD
- 5th: Comprehensive Looting Guide (Bethesda Comissioned Vid)
- More as I stream and play more!


Beth RPGs are some of my all time most played ever since countless hours in Oblivion and I love SciFi so it's been awesome to get a chance to cover this game and hopefully help folks enjoy it more. As it's been two months since the last episode and it seems unlikely I'll get around to editing and uploading more episodes I wanted to give an update. Apologies, when I started editing and uploading the Rimworld Biotech launch run I didn't expect the run would end up being over 128 hours long! It really was a monumental run. 

It takes me over an hour to edit and publish each video and that time can really be better spent making new original content for YT. Especially since the videos each make less than $5 in revenue and tend to lose subs more than gain them. I hate leaving series unfinished on here, and the really awesome comments kept me going through getting 35 episodes up but it's not very viable for me to continue.

 I really appreciate everyone who watches and comments, it's a joy reading them and it gives me fuel. 

Hello folks! Introducing our new daughter Tullina! Tully was born happy and healthy, her mother Amie is doing well and I am one proud papa. I'll be on paternity leave for a couple weeks at least and then slowly ease into making content again as I discover how to shape my life with my newly grown family. Hope you're all doing well!
