Ellesmere Port was a shanty festival much loved by artists and audiences alike. It took place at The National Waterways Museum there. The old dock buildings and the canal there created a perfect setting for the songs. The festival was run by Julia and Derek Batters (Trim Rig and a Doxy) every Easter for six years from 2011 to 2016. Over the next months, we will be posting all the videos we have from the event to create a lasting archive. If you have videos from the festival and would like to share them, please contact us and we will be glad to add them to the site. Likewise, if you have details of the names and writers of songs we have not been able to find particularly the foreign language songs let us know.
