How to increase chances of Cracking NID? I recently had a live session talking about Tips and Tricks of Design Exams and what can be done in next few days to optimise your efforts to maximise your chances of getting selected! If you didn’t have time to watch it fully, Here is the summary. Action 1 : WHY DESIGN? Remind yourself the reason why you’re willing to do Design! -Are you fascinated by the idea of Designing? if yes, things are gonna be easier. If No, this is gonna be a nightmare. - so first action is to understand what is design and what fascinates you. Once you understand this, you will get more excited abt solving questions and creative with your ideas. - once you start enjoying process, design preparation will become fun! Action 2 : Observe everything and build a strong VISUAL LIBRARY! - Design is 50% Observation and 50% Execution. Many a times you don’t get ideas because your observations/ Visual library is small. - So, get Curious, Observe, Analyse, Criticise, think of a better solution for every product you see around you Action 3 : Know your STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES - Cracking exam is all about what you do in those 3 hours. So, your presence of mind, time management and strategies are very important. - Knowing your strengths and weaknesses will allow you to use your time and efforts mindfully. Action 4 : Practice more of your Weaknesses! - Learn and practice more of your weak skills. Try and find out shortcuts to achieve them. Eg If you are weak with Human sketching, understand 3-4 commonly used human gestures and practice them. Action 5 : GET ORGANISED - Avoid every single thing which can cause PANIC in exam. - Organise your tools, keep a primary tool box with mostly used tools. Buy quality stationery. Don’t use smudge pencils and spoil your exam sheet. - Start now. Try to think clearly, avoid unorganised approaches or Processes for designing or sketching. - Get punctual. Dedicate a fixed time for sketching every single day. Action 6 : Avoid stupid mistakes. - Read rules, dont get disqualified. - dont misunderstand questions. Read them twice, highlight important key words.. - Keep last 20 min as buffer.. Well, can’t cover everything here. I recommend you to watch the session in your free time or while travelling. Hope it helps. I wish you the luck and hopefully see you soon as Future Designers! https://www.youtube.com/live/8TCVPd3WNfk?si=L21ykczscyNhryf9

Latest Podcast with awesome @RuAndChai is here! Here is a story which might help your creative journeys! Rucha is my junior from Engineering college. We both were part of our college's creative art circle. We would participate in almost every competition. There were few such folks and we all stayed focused on improving our craft along with our Engg Studies. Today, at least 5 of us are in creative professions. The reason I am sharing this with all of you is that it's not necessary that we will find our passion in one go. It might take several years but we cant give up on our true calling. Our goal should be to keep looking for opportunities where we can use our craft. Meanwhile, it's important to take care of your current responsibilities. Like, we all completed Engg with good scores and then jumped into the creative profession when we had enough confidence with the earnings. I hope this story helps you to keep going with your craft!

A proud moment for the Indian Design Community! Animation film Heirloom by filmmaker Upamanyu Bhattacharyya will be showcased in Cannes Film Festival! This is huge and can't be more proud about this champ. Last year when we shot the podcast, Upamanyu was talking about this project and the hardships of Animation Design and the struggle of doing it in India. I hope this will change the scenario. For now, take the bow my man. Congratulations!!! And for those who want to listen to his story, check the podcast by clicking the following link!!! https://yt.openinapp.co/l3t0c
