The Baker Artist Awards recognize artists who demonstrate excellence in three areas: Mastery of Craft, Depth of Artistic Exploration and Unique Vision. Six Maryland artists are awarded the prestigious Baker Artist Award based on their stellar artist portfolios. The 2024 Baker Artist Awards premieres Friday, January 31, 2025 at 7:30pm on MPT-HD. Maryland Public Television has produced and broadcast the annual Baker Artist Awards Special for more than ten years. The format of the show, which profiles each year’s remarkable awardees, has evolved over the years in response to changes in the award structure.
