After a 6 year struggle with Ulcerative Colitis I finally had my colon removed and an ileostomy created in November 2017. I had my rectum removed, a loop ileostomy and a j-pouch (Ileo-anal pouch) created in February 2018. In April 2018, I had my ostomy taken down and my j-pouch connected. This channel documents that journey. I provide advice and insight for others who may be going through this surgery as well or who are just curious about what colitis, an ileostomy, or a j-pouch entails.
