I'm Steve Root and a series of unexpected coincidences means I'm now training to run my first marathon.
What happened? 30 years ago I learnt to fly at Manston on a scholarship program from the RAF.
This year whilst Manston is closed as airfield someone hired the runway for a running event.
How could I not enter and to run on the runway that I first soloed on!
I've never run further than 10K before, so 42K can be defined as 'a challenge'.
So, let's go - Run Rootie!
