I am starting this GoFundMe because my lovely little Maltese/Shih Tzu dog Oscar is in need of critical surgery for a chronic life threatening Perineal Hernia.

I visited my local vet 16 months ago when I noticed he had a lump between his back legs and the vet told me Oscar had the hernia but it was not chronic and may heal on it's own. She said if it eventually did need surgery she could not do it as it's a very complicated procedure.

last week [10th Feb 2025]. I went to a specialist vet surgery [Brisbane Vet Surgery] to get it looked at again as Oscar has been showing signs of pain (whimpering occasionally and not wanting to go on walks, eat, play, etc.) and the hernia lump had enlarged.

The vet wanted to operate immediately (He said if I left it much longer it will eventually get strangulated and Oscar would die painfully) but I could not afford it so I had to risk not getting it done.

I don't want him to suffer but I also don't want to have to kill my beautiful dog.
