Ubuntu is a Burman University choir committed to celebrating Black contributions to the tapestry of choral music, pursing excellence and experiencing community. The Zulu word, Ubuntu, describes a way of life best captured in the statement “I am because we are.” Our individual humanity is beautifully wound up in the larger whole. The people we are is because of other people, and this is why we tell their stories and ours through song.
