The Society for the Advancement of Psychonautic Studies, or SAPS, is a research and education initiative founded by Reid Barber. What began in 2022 as a simple Discord server offering an online library of research papers and discussion spaces has since grown into a collective which brings together people that have a mutual interest in advancing research and dialogue on psychonautics.

SAPS is now positioning itself as an incubator and launchpad for research and education initiatives focused on psychonautics. We believe that we are on the cusp of a major shift in this field and are dedicated to supporting the potential of a new generation of psychonautic researchers. In a research field as tenuous as ours, we deeply believe in the necessity of community building and mutual aid. 

So, we are thrilled to introduce “Psychedelically Speaking” as SAPS’s first major initiative – we hope it will set the tone for the exciting journey ahead.
